MA IN CLINICAL AND COMMUNITY  PSYCHOLOGY

Purpose of the study program 

The main purpose of this course is to train students on research methods, all the steps of carrying out a scientific research, as well as the implementation of a scientific research and the writing of a scientific report. 

Mission of the study program

The mission of the master's program in Clinical and Community Psychology is the formation of adequate personnel to practice the profession of clinical and community psychology. The profiles will go beyond the traditional formal training of clinical psychology and community work so that prevention and intervention will naturally merge into the competencies of the professional staff that will be prepared. The program studies positive change for vulnerable and marginalized people and groups. The focus is not only on the individual but also on the impact of social factors on their lives. The program is a scientific, academic program with a significant part of practical work. The program aims to educate psychologists ready to contribute to schools, mental health centers, social work organizations, and centers, as well as the wider community. The study program's objectives align with the mission of the Faculty of Philosophy, which consists of cadres' preparation to contribute to the social and humanitarian fields. 


LEARNING OUTCOMES OF THE STUDY PROGRAM

The intended outcomes of the master's program in Clinical and Community Psychology are in line with the National Qualifications Framework and the Qualifications Framework in the European Higher Education Area and also in line with the European programs of international universities (see references below) for the profile of clinical and community psychology. The program's learning outcomes as a whole are expected to create new profiles in the field of psychology who have the skills, agility, and competencies to treat mental difficulties and disorders but also to prevent them through design and contribution to health promotion. At the end of the study program, graduates will develop knowledge of the following issues:


● Theories of community, community mental health, addictions, and human diversity.

● They will be equipped with the knowledge and skills of counseling and psychotherapy.

● Understand and apply the psychology of health and well-being.

● Apply individual psychological assessment.

● To apply psychological assessment that is carried out in the community.

● Gaining knowledge and developing skills for the evaluation of intervention programs.

● Through the program in question, the achievement of knowledge from practical work, knowledge, and skills related to the literature review and implementation of relevant research, including reporting, are also expected.
